THREE FREE AND FUN THINGS TO DO IN BUENOS AIRES

Bike Tour in Palermo

WALKING TOUR IN SAN TELMO

Because this neighborhood is the oldest in town, it is the heart and soul of Buenos Aires. Stroll its streets, listen to its sounds, discover its sights and secrets with a guide!

Local tip: do not leave, without walking Av. Caseros. The perfect spot for brunch, lunch or a cup of…beer!

BIKE TOUR IN THE PARKS OF PALERMO

When your feet are sore from walking, ride a bike! Discover Buenos Aires’ version of the Parisian Bois de Boulogne, peek into the sumptuous hippodrome and the famous Polo field. The tours start right by the Planetarium Galileo Galillei.

Local tip: avoid weekends! As the parks get very crowded.

BIKE TOUR IN LA BOCA

Venture beyond the touristic street of Caminito and get the feeling of a real barrio (neighborhood) of Buenos Aires. Listen to locals speaking loudly in the streets and spot Boca Junior’s soccer fans. Did you know that London is the city with the highest number of Soccer Clubs? There are in 15 over there and 13 in Buenos Aires!

Note that even if you don’t understand Spanish, it’s probably better to explore this neighborhood with a local guide as it is not very touristic and might not be safe enough.

Local tip: Eat a bondiola sandwich, pork shoulder, at any of the parrillas, outdoor grill carts you will see in the streets.

HOW TO BOOK THE TOURS?

Every first and third Thursday of the month, starting at noon, you can book a visit for free at the Buenos Aires tourism website: BA.tours. From a bus tour that takes you to Pope Francis’ neighborhood to rowing in Puerto Madero’s waters there are activities for everybody’s taste… But if you are from outside town and limited in time, these three are good choices to start.
