THREE SPORTSY & OUTDOORSY THINGS TO DO

Outdoorsy things to do in Buenos Aires

ROW THE WATERS OF PUERTO MADERO

Discover the sounds and sights of Puerto Madero from the water. Starting at the Puerto Madero Yacht Club (Dock IV) you will row for an hour towards the Puente de la Mujer, Women’s Bridge, mingling the old and the new along the shore. Its modern design is inspired in a couple of Tango dancers and it is Santiago Calatrava’s only architectural piece in Latin America.

If you’re in the mood to continue exploring this neighborhood you can check out Amalita Fortabat’s private collection and/or visit the Buque Museo Corbeta Uruguay. The boat-museum that stands across the shore which is best known for rescuing some Norwegian travelers in the South Pole back in 1904.

You can book the rowing activity for free at the BA’s government website (every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month) or at PuroRemo’s website. You hire Stand-Up-Paddle boards too!

RIDE AN ELECTRIC TRIKE THROUGH COSTANERA SUR

Give your sore feet a rest from walking and ride an electric trike. Take a scenic-ride through the southern coast of the River Plate. Back in the beginning of 1900’s this promenade used to be the place where chic people walked, sat at a Parisian-like café or took a bath at the river shore.

Along the Costanera you will see dirty looking shacks, where you’ll be able to try Buenos Aires version of local and street food. Order a delicious vacio-pan, steak-sandwich or bondiola pork-shoulder sandwich. The same menu porteños eat when going to a football match or coming back from a night-club.
